The author writes Month 13 Mobile. It started with a phone bill: moving a line from Xfinity Mobile to US Mobile, and doing the arithmetic on what every other carrier would cost once its introductory price ran out.

What's first-hand and what isn't

One carrier switch is my own: Xfinity Mobile to US Mobile. The write-up of that switch, with its dates and bills, isn't published yet. Until it is, every article here is research: read from carriers' own published plan pages and terms on a stated date, and labelled that way at the top.

I don't write as though I've used a service I haven't. When a page quotes a carrier, it links the page it quotes.

How the prices are kept honest

• A script reads every carrier's plan page each day and publishes what it saw, including the days a carrier blocked it.
• Plan prices come from one table, computed by tested code, and a test checks every dollar figure in every article against the site's data, apart from a short, reasoned list of quoted figures, so a price that moves can't quietly stay stale in an article. The data itself is only as good as the last read of each carrier's page, which is why each row carries its date.
• Mistakes are corrected in public. There are 27 entries in the corrections log so far.

Money

Some carriers run affiliate programs that pay when a reader signs up through a link. When a link on a page pays, the notice at the top of that page says so before the first paragraph. Nobody can pay for a position, a mention or a review, and the rankings are computed from the price table, not chosen.
