Xfinity Mobile after the free year: $0 becomes $30 a line, plus tax

Xfinity Mobile Select is $0 a month for the first year, then $30 a month plus taxes and fees. Mobile Plus is $15 for the first year, then $45. On both plans the first-year discount is limited to the value of one Mobile Select line, $30 a month. Both jumps are $30 a month, and both prices depend on keeping Xfinity Internet. I was an Xfinity Mobile customer before moving my line to US Mobile; the prices below are Xfinity’s own page, read on September 22, 2026.

What does Xfinity Mobile cost after the first year?

From xfinity.com/learn/mobile:

All four figures are before taxes and fees, which Xfinity adds on top. With an estimated 18% for tax, Select’s month-13 bill is about $35.40, and a year of it about $425. That tax figure is this site’s estimate; your bill will say the real one.

The fine print adds two things that matter. “After 12 months, regular rates apply.” And the regular rates themselves “include $10/mo internet customer discount”, so the $30 is already the discounted price.

Who qualifies for the free line?

The offer is for “new Xfinity Mobile phone customers only with 300 Mbps internet or above,” and the discount is “limited to value of 1 Mobile Select line ($30/mo value).” So:

• It’s one free line, not a free account. A second line is $30 from day one.
• Mobile Plus doesn’t become free; the $30 discount brings it from $45 to $15.
• It needs internet at 300 Mbps or faster. If your plan is slower, upgrading to qualify has its own price, and its own promotional period.

What do two years cost?

Taking the offer and staying, before tax:

• Mobile Select: $0 for year one, $360 for year two.
• Mobile Plus: $180 for year one, $540 for year two.

The first year is a genuine discount, and if you’d have bought Xfinity Internet anyway, it’s hard to argue with a free line. The question is only what you do in month 13, which is where the price cliff table puts both plans, tied at the top with Spectrum’s. Its figures run higher than the ones here because it adds an estimated tax to prices that exclude it, so every carrier is compared on the same basis.

What’s the cheapest way to keep Verizon’s network after?

Xfinity Mobile runs on Verizon. So do Visible, Total Wireless and US Mobile’s Warp network, and none of them needs a home internet subscription. At their regular prices, with taxes included:

• US Mobile Unlimited Flex: $17.50 a month, paid annually.
• Visible: $25 a month, or less on its annual plan. No priority data on the base plan.
• Total Wireless MAX 5G (bring your own phone): $25 a month with AutoPay, with a five-year guarantee on the rate before discounts (Total says it doesn’t cover the AutoPay discount). New customers are offered less for now: $30 for the first month, then $20 a month with AutoPay, and Total gives no end date for the $20.

Each is below Select’s month-13 price of about $35.40 with tax. The Verizon network page ranks every plan on the network, and the calculator opens with a $35 Xfinity bill already filled in.

What does Xfinity include that the others might not?

Roaming. Both Xfinity plans include talk, text and data in 215+ destinations, slowed after 10 GB a month. Visible charges $10 a day for the same on its base plan, Total includes 10 GB in 140+ countries, and US Mobile’s Warp network reportedly roams in far fewer countries than its other two. If you travel a lot, read the Xfinity roaming page before deciding the free year is all Xfinity has going for it.

What should you do before month 13?

• Find your start date. The twelve months run from when the line was activated; put a reminder a month before.
• Check whether your internet promo ends at the same time. Cable internet has its own twelve-month pricing, and two increases in the same month is the worst version of this.
• Get your account number and transfer PIN if you’re going to leave, and check the phone is unlocked. The switching checklist has the order.
